-I feel that the constitution is the cornerstone of our country. It defines our basic rights and sets the foundation for how our country is governed. Without it, our individual liberties would be at stake.
-I think that our society is grateful to our veterans. This is displayed on tv, in the newspapers, by commerce that grants them discounts and by our taking time to honor them by saying thank you to them when we encounter them. Too many veterans are humble and we often don't know that they are even Veterans. I think by acknowledging their sacrifices and simply saying thanks would show them how much they are appreciated. We could certainly do a better job in helping the homeless veterans. We need to make that a priority.
-We show respect for our country by willing saying the pledge of allegiance at school, by standing for the National Anthem at sporting events, by displaying our patriotism by flying our flag in our yards, schools and companies and by honoring our veterans. We need to be responsible citizens and vote for officials that will honor our country's constitution.
-We can contribute to keeping the peace by not forcing our opinions on each other. It is more peaceful to "agree to disagree". We can build relationships by agreeing on common ground issues and focus on those instead of our differences. This was demonstrated recently by President Trump's visit with the Pope. They had little to agree on but found common areas that they shared opinions and had a successful visit. Days later, the Pope is telling crowds that commerce and entrepreneurism is an important aspect to building strong economies.
-Tolerance is accepting other's viewpoints and ideas that might differ from your ideas and opinions.
-Tolerance promotes peace in that we are more open to other ideas and approaches to problems/issues. It is healthy to verbally disagree and to present opposing opinions but it isn't acceptable to use violent tactics towards those that you disagree on issues.
-We can show our loyalty to our country by honoring our veterans, by wearing patriotic colors, by showing respect and tolerance towards each other, to the laws of the land, and to our constitution.
-We need to continue to honor our veterans as they are the reason that we enjoy our freedom. They give or gave selfishly for our country and we need to give back to them as well. They fought in all previous wars and will continue to defend our country in the future. Many have made the ultimate sacrifice. We need to show our respect and gratitude to both the veterans and their families who also shared in the sacrifices

  2. 1) I feel that the cornerstone of our country, as Jessica has already stated, is our constitution. It is also our bill of rights. These are the documents that define our country and that gave our country life and liberty.

    2) We can honor our veterans by going out of our way to show kindness and gratitude toward them. Another very important way to honor them is simply to keep them in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers.

    3) We show respect for our country by proudly raising our American flag high, using and seeing this flag as the symbol of freedom and love that it is, being active and informed citizens, and learning our country's history and the sacrifices that have been made.

    4) As individuals, on a daily basis, we can keep the peace by obeying laws and by ensuring that we treat every citizen of our country with kindness & no prejudice. We must also be peaceful in the way we handle issues, for this can have a ripple effect on others.

    5) Tolerance is being patient, understanding, and accepting of anything different (YourDictionary.com).

    6) Tolerance promotes peace by helping people to set aside differences and come together through hardships and conflicts. Many wars and fights have broken out because there was no tolerance of a different religion, opinion, race, gender, etc. etc.

    7) We can show our loyalty to our country by obeying laws and respecting rights; showing proper respect of our country, its flag, and what it stands for; honoring our veterans; having tolerance; striving for peace; and looking to improve our nation and make what we think are the best political decisions for it.

    8) It is important to keep honoring veterans because they have given so much for our country and have hugely impacted our lives - whether directly or indirectly and whether we know it or not. They have held our country in the highest of honors by fighting for us, and so we must show them honor in return. Without them, who knows what our lives would be like today. And of course, we must keep their sacrifices in mind, so that we can try to prevent the need for these sacrifices to even be made in the future.

  6. -The cornerstone of this nation, in my opinion, is freedom. Freedom of the people to live, speak, or organize in any nonviolent way they please is the backbone of any democratic society, and in the case that freedom is besmirched by those in power, a government of the people cannot be achieved.
-One can honor our veterans in any number of ways. We can keep alive the stories of their service big and small, or visit the graves of those who gave their lives and pay respects. Most of all, however, if we want to respect those who have served, we must not take freedom for granted. Never forget how lucky we have it, and regularly remember and give thanks to those who have protected our liberties.
-We can show respect for our country by regularly exercising our freedom in any way we can. Promote tolerance in our everyday lives. Educate ourselves on the nation's history and the brilliant minds and laborious work that were required to establish it.
-We can help keep the peace by making a conscientious effort to help ease conflicts--rather than heighten them with yelling and petty insults--and to tolerate other's points-of-view.
-Tolerance, in a social context, is the act of accepting or coexisting with the beliefs or lifestyles of others, no matter how differing they are from your own.
-Tolerance promotes peace because it eases the tensions between people on opposing sides. If one practices tolerance, it can allow that person to accept the other person, however briefly, and set aside whatever it is that makes them ideologically different. Peace stems from this social cooperation.
-We can display our loyalty to the country by striving to live by its ideals, by actively taking part in government, and by working in any way possible to make it a better, safer, more perfect union for its future citizens.
-It is important to keep honoring our veterans because we should always be conscious of those who dedicate themselves to protecting our freedom. To fall into ignorance and turn a blind eye to those who fight and die in our nation's name is perhaps one of the greatest disservices we could do to the country. One should always remember the hands that strain to support the weight of the nation, because without them, we would quite possibly collapse.
